DS - Double Stage - Single Acting
DS (Double Stage – Single Acting) boosters use two compression stages in series. This design allows very high outlet pressures while maintaining higher efficiency than a comparable single-stage system.
ADVANTAGES
• Very high outlet pressures
• Better compression load distribution
• Reduced mechanical stress on components
• Ideal for high-pressure testing and specialty gas systems
Examples of use
FINAL PRESSURE CALCULATION
PB = i₂ × PL + (i₂ / i₁) × PA
i₁ = first-stage ratio
i₂ = second-stage ratio
PA = initial gas pressure
PL = drive pressure
PB = final pressure
Example:
PL = 10 bar
PA = 25 bar
i₁ = 21
i₂ = 76
PB = 76 × 10 + (76 / 21) × 25 ≈ 850 bar
